Sadly no, the Amptastic Mini-1 cannot be used as a traditional mono / mono-block amplifier. It is a limit to the internal Tripath chip design, not the Mini-1. This is because the Tripath amplifier chipset is bridged internally and operates in a BTL configuration. Customers looking for the highest quality and efficiency may decide to vertical bi-amp if they have bi-wirable speakers.

To get the best possible sound quality, discerning users might want to try Vertical Bi-amping their speakers with two amplifiers. If you have bi-wirable speakers you can run two Mini-1 amplifiers, one for each channel. A Y-Splitter is used to split the left and right channels into each amplifier. These can be picked up relatively inexpensively online. Please see the following guide which shows a typical vertical bi-amp configuration.

Yes, the Amptastic PSU-1 power supply bundled with the Mini-1 is fully approved for 110-250v operation and has a standard IEC C14 socket on one side for local AC connection. We supply either UK 3-pin AC cable or EU 2-pin with earth cable depending on your country.

Both! The Mini-1 has top quality gold plated speaker connectors (also known as binding posts) on the rear panel. They accept both bare/cut speaker cables and also cables terminated with 4mm banana plugs. To fit bare wires, carefully unscrew each speaker connector until you can see a hole for the speaker wires to fit into. Tighten the connector until the wire is securely fastened.

To fit banana plugs, carefully pull out the red and black plastic safety caps (if fitted). Use finger nails or a very thin bladed screw driver to do this. The caps should just pop off, but may need a little force. You can then insert the banana plug directly into the end of the connector. For a professional and simple means of connecting speaker wires, we strongly recommend the use of banana plugs

Configuring the Mini-1 amplifier into stereo power amp mode bypasses the volume control potentiometer. This gives the user the option of running the Mini-1 with a pre-amplifier device to control the input signal level.

Whilst we use an audio grade volume pot, removing components from the input signal path is a well respected method of improving fidelity. The feedback we've received from our happy customers is that running the amp in the power amp mode gives further 'headroom'.

De-activating the the Blue status LED on the front panel of the Mini-1 amplifier is a common modification when running the amplifier 24/7 and for listening in dark rooms. We cant say de-activating the LED will increase the sound quality, however it was a frequently requested feature on the previous Mini-T amplifier. We have provided this facility on the Mini-1 and hope our customers find it very helpful.

When shipping your order, many of our courier partners require a telephone number. If there are any issues when delivering your parcel, e.g. cannot find location, or to arrange a time for delivery, they will be able to contact you directly. This information is not used for any other purpose and is not shared with anyone other than the courier.

We provide a real-time estimate of shipping during the shopping process (provided we can geo-locate your location, or you enter your post code manually). This allows for a more transparent estimate of the total cost. Customers can clearly see the estimated total before committing to purchase, or beginning the checkout process. Simply add your product to the basket.

We aim to process and send our parcels out within 1-2 working days of the purchase confirmation, in reality products can be packed and shipped within a few hours.

For UK orders we use the Royal Mail Tracked 48 service which provides online tracking. For EU and Worldwide orders we use Royal Mail International Signed For parcels (and tracked where possible). Any tracking codes or references will be emailed to the customer once the parcel has been successfully packed.

Our shipping information is subject to change, it is recommended that our customers visit regularly to ensure they have the latest information. Any taxes or import duties are the responsibility of the purchaser, if in doubt contact us first.

We value our customers and aim to ensure that you are satisfied with purchases. Please contact us should you wish to give feedback regarding any of our products. If you believe your product has a fault, please contact us immediately to enable us to rectify the problem and/or arrange for delivery of a replacement product (if needed).

If for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase, you are able to return it to us within 14 days of delivery for a full refund excluding P&P.; All refunds are subject to our returns policy outlined below.

1. Contact us via email to obtain an RMA number (Return Merchandise Authorisation) and the full returns address. Note: items returned without a RMA number may be returned to sender.
2. Package items including any accessories in their original box.
3. Include your RMA number within the package, or write clearly on outside of the box.
4. Please be aware you are responsible for return post and packaging costs. The buyer is responsible for any loss or damage during the return shipment. It is therefore recommended that goods are returned using a paid for, tracked and insured shipping service.
5. Items will be checked and inspected upon return. We endeavour to process appropriate refunds within 3 working days of approval.
6. Products must be returned in 'like new' condition in their original box for a full refund (excluding P&P; costs). For any items returned with signs of use, modification or damage, we reserve the right to deduct a reasonable amount from the refund to restore items to 'like new' condition.
